Milestone - the quarterly newsletter

The Macclesfield Canal Society publishes a quarterly magazine entitled Milestone. Contributions to Milestone are always welcomed by the editor.

Why Milestone?

The Macclesfield Canal Society was formed in 1984 by a group who first got together two years earlier with the objective of restoring the unique mile and quarter mile stones which had been buried during the second world war as a security measure. The milestone restoration was the first project undertaken by those enthusiasts who later founded the society and the word naturally lent itself to naming the magazine.
