Introduction:

Owned by Brunning & PriceExternal link who are noted for their outstanding redevelopments and the quality of their food and drink. Sutton Hall is a site with a long historyExternal link dating from the Bronze Age, and the 16thC manor house has been beautifully restored prior to its re-opening in 2008.

Brews:

A free house, and they certainly know how to choose their beersExternal link. Always an extensive selection of cask ales, c.8-10, and a very good wine cellarExternal link as well.

Food:

Excellent food served from midday to late every day, great menuExternal link, served in any of a number of rooms each with its own character. My only critiscism is that, to reduce cost they admit, they expect diners to order at the bar. However, in all other respects the service is first class. Probably the best eatery along the Macclesfield Canal.

The driveway joins Bullock's Lane right beside bridge 44. It's just a couple of hundred metres up the drive.
