Introduction:

This lovely country pub fell on hard times and was closed for a year or two. A traditional 18th century country pub, it is actually out of sight of the canal but it is the only accessible one between Bosley locks and the outskirts of Congleton so it is well worth the short walk! The building used to be the local courthouse and it has been beautifully refurbished by Darrell Bebbington reopening in March 2010.

Brews:

Marstons; Pedigree, Burton, plus one guest ale, two at the weekend.

Food:

Yes, all day ...
Monday-Thursday: 12noon - 9.00pm
Friday, Saturday: 12noon - 9.30pm
Sunday: 12noon - 8.00pm

Untried but looks fair value. Special priced offers every weekday evening such as grills on Monday, puddings on Tuesday, 'Curry Night' Wednesday, wine deal on Thursday and 'Fish & Chips' on Friday, plus an all day weekday offer. They also prepare meals for take away at reduced prices.

They have a dining room that can be booked for a semi-private party (it can't be entirely closed off from the public area).

Other facilities:

Car park, garden with decked area.
